Adaptogenic Chocolate Chai
This tastes amazing! And I get the benefits of drinking adaptogens every day. I feel so much better, have more energy and feel restored. -Melissa
I created this to help me take my coffee break. It's not coffee—nothing is coffee, lol—but it is an intentionally delicious morning drink that is spicy, warm, and cozy to hold. The bonus is that it's extremely healthy and chock-full of adaptogens and digestion-enhancing carminatives.
The adaptogens- ashwagandha root, eleuthero root, astragalus root, and chaga mushroom- help our bodies adapt to stress, balance stress, and become more resilient humans. It gives us anxiety relief, an immune boost, energy, clarity, and better sleep.
I added raw cacao nibs and raw cacao butter for a small amount of caffeine, flavor, and creaminess.
There is also Licorice for gut health, adrenal health, and sweetness in the formula!
Volume: 8 ounces (it's heavy!)
All Organic Ingredients: Ashwagandha Root, Eleuthero Root, Astragalus Root, Chaga Mushroom, Raw Cacao Butter, Raw Cacao Nibs, Coconut Milk Powder, Cloves, Cardamom, Ginger Root, Orange Peels, Licorice Root, Cinnamon Chips, All Spice Berries, Fresh Raw Vanilla Beans.
Directions: This is not a pour-over tea. It's made in a pan of tea. Add a heaping tablespoon of mix to a pot and add 1 cup of water. Cover the pot and turn the heat on medium/low for 5 minutes. Then, turn off the heat and let it sit for another 5 minutes. Strain.
It does take 10 minutes to make. I set a timer to help. You can steep the tea for 30 minutes for a stronger flavor. Try both ways!
To make a latte- I strain right into the Vitamix and add ghee, coconut oil, and raw honey. Sometimes, a splash of raw milk. Add cinnamon to the top. I love it this way!
For extra credit- add my ashwagandha honey for sale in the honey collection!
