Creosote bush is one of my favorite desert healing plants. It can withstand extreme heat, sun, and harsh desert conditions without rain for two years. It's resilient and powerful!
Indigenous peoples in this area have used creosote/chaparral for hundreds of years for many skin ailments. This plant has specifically adapted to help your skin retain moisture, heal from sun damage, heal acne, remove bacteria, and reduce redness.
*Creosote oil is a strong anti-oxidant for the skin to reduce free radical damage in skin cells. It contains Nordihydroguaiaretic Acid (NDGA), a powerful antioxidant found in the sticky, resinous leaves. NDGA is known to inhibit the activity of tyrosinase which is an enzyme involved in melanin production. This means it's anti-aging skincare and helps fade dark spots!
*It is known to help with acne and eczema due to its antibacterial, antifungal, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and astringent properties.
*It's excellent for rashes, itchy skin, and bug bites.
*Use as a mild natural sunscreen SPF 7.

If you've smelled the desert after a rain you'll recognize the smell of the creosote bush (chaparral). This plant releases oils in the rain and creates the after rain smell. No essential oils are used in this product, just pure earth. The smell is different. It's earthy like a wet rainy desert- some get confused by it, some LOVE it!
Chaparral is known for its unique scent. It hasn't gone bad- just takes getting used to.
